Nick Rettenmyer

FOUNDER, SPEAKER, ADVISOR

Nick is the founder of Pay Simplicity and brings highly unique personal and professional experience to his clients and partners. These experiences span companies in a variety of industries, in countries in every region of the world.

Nick has lived abroad, worked, and traveled extensively around the world, and deeply understands cultural differences and different approaches to work and life.

His background is also strongly influenced by his lifelong involvement in high level sport and athletics as an athlete, coach, and employee. These competitive experiences helped shape his life and really ingrained the connection, confidence, and resilience that sports develop.

Nick’s business career spans two decades of compensation-related experience solving challenging problems related to attracting, motivating, and retaining high-performing talent. His portfolio of work includes a strong track record of innovation and success with some of the world’s most recognizable brands.

Through these experiences, he’s had a real insider view into how approaches to paying people around the world help (or hurt) the creation of high performing cultures. Nick started Pay Simplicity to leverage this experience and take employee pay strategy, design, and communications from routine to compelling and:

  • open the black box of corporate pay and share many of the how’s and why’s involved in decision making,

  • bridge the gaps between intent (both company and manager) and individual perception of pay outcomes, and

  • foster pay advocacy and fairness for companies, managers, and individuals.

A frequent and highly sought after presenter, Nick earned a B.S. in Marketing from the University of South Florida and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin – Red McCombs School of Business.
